Positivo Informática system is one of the world’s top five e-Learning solutions in the World Summit Awards

Curitiba, September 13th 2005 – E-Blocks, a technological solution to the classroom created by the Positivo Informática’s team to teach English to young learners (4 – 10 years old), is one of the top 5 e-Learning projects of the world according to the World Summit Awards (WSA) organization. The results came out yesterday during the WSA Grand Jury meeting, that started on September 3rd and ended on 10th, in Bahrain, in the east coast of Saudi Arabia.

Created in 2003, the World Summit Awards (WSA) is a global contest that identifies and promotes projects from all over the world that make use of information technology and communication in the development of innovative content and multimedia application, emphasizing on the reduction of digital exclusion?. Representing 168 different countries from all continents, the WSA starts from the premise that only the access to a computer and to an Internet connection is not enough, and that the content of the products plays an essential part to the success of the projects. Therefore, other than just recognizing the technological production, the WSA contemplates the perfect blending between the content and the product, and that is exactly what characterizes the E-Blocks system and differs it from any other solution available in the English learning market.

This year, more than a thousand digital projects, from 168 countries, competed in the following categories: e-Learning, e-Culture, e-Science, e-Government, e-Health, e-Business, e-Entertainment e e-Inclusion. Along with E-Blocks, only 39 other projects were contemplated and will be presented in the World Summit on the Information Society, in Tunis – Tunisia, from November 16-18 of 2005.
